The Surgical Technician assures the availability of necessary equipment and supplies for surgical procedures, competently scrubs for these procedures, and performs other duties as assigned by the Registered Nurse. Duties include performing direct patient care, organizing departmental activities and supplies based on the surgery schedule, and maintaining required clinical knowledge and credentials.
Required education includes a High School diploma or equivalent and graduation from an accepted Surgical Technology course, along with current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Candidates must possess computer skills for data entry, expertise in sterile and aseptic techniques, and knowledge of human anatomy and surgical procedures.
