Registered nurses are responsible for demonstrating competent care of patients in labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care within a 12-bed unit that includes a nursery and triage area. This involves advanced fetal monitoring, breastfeeding education, and maintaining various life support and resuscitation certifications.
Candidates must possess a current Massachusetts RN license and have required experience in Labor and Delivery as well as Postpartum or Mother/Baby care. Required certifications include AHA BLS, ACLS, and NRP, along with recent AWHONN EFM continuing education.

UNIT DESCRIPTION: The Birthplace is a 12-bed, private room, labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum unit that includes a nursery staffed by obstetricians, certified nurse midwives, pediatricians, neonatologists and registered nurses. The Unit also has a 2 bed triage and 6 bed postpartum area. Registered nurses are required to demonstrate competent care of the patient in labor, delivery, postpartum and newborn advanced fetal monitoring, breastfeeding education, neonatal resuscitation certification, advanced life support certification, and the OR scrub and circulating roles. Minimum Requirements: Current Massachusetts RN license Labor and Delivery experience required Post partum or Mother/Baby experience required AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required upon hire NRP required Evidence of recent AWHONN EFM continuing education required Recommended Requirements: OR Circulating & Scrub experience preferred Experience working in continuing care/special care nursery/NICU environment preferred Pay Range: $37.14 - $82.22 This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. The pay range for this position is established and governed by the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Employees hired into this position will receive compensation consistent with the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
