The Behavioral Health Technician works under licensed nurse supervision, performing clinical and clerical functions within behavioral inpatient services, including assisting with admissions, maintaining clinical records, and supporting patient Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). Responsibilities also involve monitoring the therapeutic environment, performing safety checks, facilitating therapeutic activities, and demonstrating competence in managing agitated patients, including seclusion/restraint procedures if necessary.
A High School Diploma or GED is required, with a preference for a BA/BS in a human services field or related student status. Required training includes CPR certification within 60 days and MOAB Verbal De-escalation Certification within 90 days, with two years of prior experience in a mental health or medical setting preferred for general BHT roles.
