The technologist conducts nocturnal polysomnograms, initiates nasal CPAP, performs Multiple Sleep Latency Tests, and is responsible for scoring all performed tests according to AASM standards. Essential duties include preparing patients, monitoring them during testing, troubleshooting equipment, and summarizing findings for physician review.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma and obtain board certification from BRPT or ABSM, with unregistered associates or CRPSGTs required to pass the board exam within 180 days of hire. A minimum of twelve to eighteen months of related experience is required, along with strong interpersonal and analytical skills for patient interaction and emergency evaluation.
