The Registered Nurse in Surgery utilizes the Quality Caring Model to plan and manage patient care during surgical or other invasive procedures, collaborating with the surgical team to implement individualized care plans. Responsibilities include performing pre-operative assessments, executing scrub and circulating functions, monitoring patient condition, and educating patients and families.

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.

Candidates must have graduated from an accredited nursing program and hold current licensure by the Maryland State Board of Nursing or a Compact State, along with a current BLS certification from the American Heart Association. A minimum of one year of nursing experience in a surgical setting, including both scrubbing and circulating, is required, with a BSN or MSN being preferred.
