The Contact Lens Fitter is primarily responsible for fitting all soft and gas permeable contact lenses, including ordering and delivery, while strictly adhering to departmental policies and procedures. Essential duties involve instructing patients on lens wear, explaining financial policies, measuring ocular parameters, and performing diagnostic fittings using specialized equipment.
Candidates must possess three years of recent contact lens fitting experience under licensed supervision and demonstrate knowledge in performing preliminary vision tests and modifying contact lenses. Required education is a High School Diploma or GED, along with a Contact Lens Dispenser Certificate from National Contact Lens Examiners.
The Contact Lens Fitter is responsible for the fitting of all soft and gas permeable contact lenses, ordering and delivery of contact lenses. The Contact Lens Fitter is also responsible for adhering to current departmental polices and procedures.
