The social worker provides assistance to patients and families concerning social determinants of health, trauma certification, crisis intervention, and complexities within a Level 1 trauma center emergency department. Responsibilities include interviewing patients, assessing priorities, documenting case activity, and assisting with obtaining community resources through referrals.
A Master's degree in Social Work is required, though no prior experience is explicitly necessary for this role. Candidates must be able to perform frequent physical activities like reaching, sitting, standing, walking, and using vision and hearing extensively, while maintaining constant alertness.
