Summary: Hospitalist – 7 on/7 off | Work With a Collaborative, Integrated Care Team
We are seeking a Board Eligible or Board Certified Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Hospitalist to join our cohesive inpatient team. This is an excellent opportunity for a physician who values a manageable patient load, strong nursing collaboration, and a predictable block schedule.
Position Highlights 25-bed hospital with an average daily census of 10 patients 7 on / 7 off schedule Round on patients starting at 7:00 AM Integrated clinical rounding with nursing at 8:30 AM for improved coordination and patient outcomes Physicians will have continued communication with nursing during on-call hours, with the possibility of screening possible admissions in collaboration with our emergency room physicians.
Requirements: Board Eligible/Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Licensed MD/DO in ND and MN

The Hospitalist's role involves evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients at Altru, providing comprehensive care for injuries and illnesses. Hospitalists’ responsibilities include counseling patients on preventive healthcare measures and exercising professional judgment in alignment with Altru’s policies and standards. The position requires achieving annual Patient Engagement and Quality & Safety goals, supporting department objectives, and maintaining accurate and timely documentation to ensure quality patient care and appropriate reimbursement.
Evaluates, provides diagnosis and treatment of patients of Altru who present with injuries or illnesses. Counsels patients and advises on preventative healthcare measures.
Exercises Doctor's own judgment in the diagnosis and treatment of patients consistent with Altru’s policies and standards.
Achieves the Altru Patient Engagement and Quality & Safety goals established on an annual basis. Participates in activities and support department goals as defined by department on an annual basis.
Maintains accurate and timely documentation ensuring quality patient care and assurance of appropriate reimbursements to Altru.
Performs other duties as assigned.
This position requires proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to ensure effective communication in the workplace and with patients, families, and team members.
