The X-Ray Technologist operates X-ray and fluoroscopic equipment to assist radiologists and physicians in diagnosing and treating disease or injury, which includes preparing patients and ensuring radiation safety protocols are followed. Key duties involve setting up and operating radiographic equipment, positioning patients, checking image clarity, distributing images, and maintaining required records.
Candidates must possess an Associate's degree in radiological technology from an accredited program and typically have one to three years of experience as an X-ray technologist, preferably in a medical practice setting. Required credentials include an X-Ray Tech License for Rhode Island, with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist registration being preferred.
