Technicians will assist veterinarians with patient examinations, diagnostics, and treatments, while also obtaining and recording vital observations and providing direct nursing care to hospitalized patients. Key duties also involve performing diagnostic procedures, assisting in surgery and anesthesia monitoring, administering medications, and supporting emergency interventions.
Candidates need a minimum of one year of experience in veterinary emergency, urgent care, or general practice, with graduation from an AVMA-accredited program preferred. Required proficiencies include animal restraint, IV catheter placement, blood draws, anesthesia monitoring, and medication administration, along with the ability to handle physical demands and high-stress situations.
