Wellstar Medical Group is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Fellowship-Trained Breast Surgeon to join our growing Comprehensive Breast Health Program. This is an outstanding opportunity to help build and grow a new office location supported by a strong referral network, multidisciplinary collaboration, and growing community demand.

As an integral member of our breast surgery team, you will provide comprehensive surgical care while working alongside medical oncology, radiation oncology, breast imaging, pathology, genetics, and nurse navigation specialists. Our cancer program is accredited by the Commission on Cancer (CoC) through the American College of Surgeons, reflecting our commitment to delivering exceptional, patient-centered cancer care.

Responsibilities

The selected physician will

  • Provide high-quality, compassionate care in both ambulatory and inpatient settings
  • Perform a full range of breast surgical procedures, including:
  • Mastectomies
  • Lumpectomies
  • Excisional biopsies
  • Sentinel lymph node biopsy
  • Axillary lymph node dissection
  • Oncoplastic closure techniques
  • Perform and interpret breast ultrasound examinations
  • Perform ultrasound-guided and stereotactic breast biopsies
  • Document patient care within the Epic electronic medical record
  • No general surgery call
  • Contribute to the education of residents and medical students as opportunities arise

Qualifications

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery
  • Fellowship trained in Breast Surgery or Surgical Oncology
  • Eligible for or currently holding a Georgia medical license
  • Minimum of 3 years of breast surgery experience
  • Experience with:
  • Breast ultrasound
  • Ultrasound-guided biopsy
  • Demonstrated expertise in both benign and malignant breast disease, including oncoplastic breast surgery
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional, patient-centered care

Requirements

Candidates must be Board Certified or Board Eligible with a Georgia Medical License and possess competence in the latest surgical protocols for cancer treatment, including minimally invasive techniques. Required experience includes proficiency in benign and malignant breast surgery, oncoplasty, ultrasound, ultrasound biopsy, and stereo biopsy.
