The Occupational Therapist Assistant performs selected procedures under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist and provides patient care based on the therapist's evaluation and plan of care. They also coordinate patient care and clinical activities through communication with the healthcare team and document in the patient's medical record.
An associate degree from an AOTA accredited program is required, along with a license to practice in Virginia. Effective interpersonal, communication, customer service, and teamwork skills are also necessary.
