The Invasive Radiological Technologist assists the physician with patient preparation and intra/post-interventional procedures. They are responsible for the safe operation of radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment and act as a patient educator and advocate.

Description

The Invasive Radiological Technologist provides fundamental technical support by assisting the physician with patient preparation, intra and post-interventional/surgical procedures, management of supplies and devices, physiologic patient monitoring and assisting with direct patient care. Responsible for safe and effective operation or radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment as well as specialized imaging and technical equipment used for procedures. Is a patient/family educator, advocate and liaison.

  • Qualifications: Associates of Science. Bachelors of Science preferred. Registered Radiologic Technologist from an accredited school of Radiological Technology and current Florida license. Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) credentials and current BLS certification. ACLS within 6 months of hire date if hired in the Cath lab. Proof of eligibility for advanced certification required (VI,CV,CI for IVR and RCIS or RCES for Cath Lab. Must attain advanced certification within (2) years of hire date. Completes a minimum of 12 CEUs annually (10 CEUs must be CV related)

Requirements

Candidates must have an Associate of Science degree and be a Registered Radiologic Technologist with a current Florida license. They should also have active ARRT credentials and BLS certification, with additional certifications required within a specified timeframe.
