About the role

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for administering pharmacological, diagnostic, and therapeutic agents related to respiratory care procedures as prescribed by a physician. This includes implementing treatment plans, disease prevention, pulmonary rehabilitation, and accurately transcribing and executing physician orders.

Overview Responsible for the administration of pharmacological, diagnostic, and therapeutic agents related to respiratory care procedures necessary to implement treatment, disease prevention, pulmonary rehabilitative, or diagnostic regime prescribed by a physician. The transcription and implementation of the written or verbal orders of a physician pertaining to the practice of respiratory care.

Responsibilities

Successfully performs Arterial Blood Gas Punctures Consistently and accurately reports the results in a timely manner. Consistently and competently adheres to Respiratory Protocols. Appropriately performs patient assessment and correlates care with the patient’s needs. Accurately follows policies in patient care including patient identification.

Qualifications

Associate's in Respiratory Therapy. Alabama State Respiratory Therapist. Respiratory Therapy NRBC Certification. Requirements

Candidates must possess an Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy and hold an Alabama State Respiratory Therapist license. Additionally, Respiratory Therapy NRBC Certification is required for this position.
