The Certified Nursing Assistant actively participates in the department by collecting data, providing comfort measures, and delivering basic care appropriate to the patient's developmental age and cultural sensitivity. This role involves functioning as part of an interdisciplinary team, providing direct support to nursing staff, and accurately observing and reporting patient status to the Registered Nurse.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED and up to six months of related experience or equivalent education and training. Required certifications include a current Certified Nursing Assistant certification and Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification, along with a valid driver's license.
Under the leadership of the Director, Nursing, the Certified Nursing Assistant is an active member of the department that collects data, provides comfort measures and basic care to patients. The Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for providing care that is appropriate for the patients’ developmental age and is culturally sensitive.
• Education:
Requires and maintains a Certified Nursing Assistant certification and a certification in Basic Life Saving (BLS). (If BLS certification is not current upon hire, it must be obtained within three (3) months of hire.)
Requires and maintains a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance. Requires a current valid driver’s license. A Motor Vehicle Report is required upon hire and reviewed annually.
