The Medical Assistant facilitates communication between the patient and provider, prepares patients for visits by rooming them, obtaining vitals, and setting up procedures. They are also responsible for maintaining exam room standards, managing biohazard waste, and assisting with documentation and administrative tasks like prescription preparation.
Candidates must have a high school diploma/GED and graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant training program, along with active Medical Assistant certification (RMA, CMA, CCMA, or NCMA). Preferred experience includes 1-2 years in orthopedics, spine surgery, or pain management, and knowledge of EMR and insurance operations is required.
