The Ultrasound Technologist produces diagnostic images using ultrasound equipment to aid physicians in diagnosis and interventional procedures, which involves collecting patient data, verifying orders, and ensuring proper screening protocols are followed. Key duties include analyzing assessment data to determine optimal imaging parameters, obtaining optimum images, sending them to PACS, and documenting all patient care and exam information accurately.
Required qualifications include completion of a CAAHEOP accredited Medical Ultrasound Program, strong leadership, organizational, independent, and critical thinking skills, and sound judgment. Candidates must possess current BLS certification and current registry with the American Registry Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in at least one specialty (Abdominal, Vascular, OB/GYN, Breast, or Nuchal Translucency), along with required background clearances.
