The Medical Assistant performs basic direct patient care, including lab tests, treatments, and administering medications and immunizations under the direction of a Nurse or Physician. This role also involves carrying out essential clerical activities, quality control, and performance improvement initiatives to support the physician practice.
Required qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, strong organizational and critical thinking skills, and the ability to communicate complex topics effectively. Preferred qualifications include previous outpatient office experience or being a Certified EMT/Paramedic, with Medical Assistant Certification being preferred.

These are performed under the direction of the Nurse and/or the physician in preparation for the patient's examination and treatment. The incumbent carries out clerical activities, quality control activities, performance improvement initiatives, etc. in support of the physician practice as assigned. This position also serves as a resource for the clerical/clinical staff in the practice.
