The specialist provides peer support, serving as a role model, mentor, and motivator to individuals in recovery from substance use disorder to prevent relapse and promote long-term recovery. Responsibilities include facilitating recovery planning, promoting self-advocacy, and actively linking individuals to necessary community resources.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED and be a Kentucky Certified Peer Support Specialist with a valid KY Driver's License and current automobile insurance. Preferred applicants should have a minimum of one year of sobriety and two years of demonstrated, sustained recovery, along with familiarity with MS Office applications.
