The podiatrist is responsible for diagnosing and treating all conditions related to the lower legs, feet, and ankles, which includes consulting with patients and practicing evidence-based medicine. Duties also involve prescribing medication and devices, and performing all necessary procedures and surgeries to remedy patient conditions.
Candidates must possess a Doctoral degree in podiatric medicine and have completed an accredited residency with board certification. Continued education on medical advancements and treatments is expected, and surgical experience is preferred.
