The Prior Authorization Nurse is responsible for gathering and submitting necessary paperwork to insurance companies to obtain prior authorization numbers for procedures and medications. This role also involves consulting with multidisciplinary teams, documenting patient care activities, and coordinating care with appropriate disciplines.
Candidates must be a Registered Nurse with two years of experience in delivering nursing care, possess analytical abilities, sound nursing knowledge, and effective communication skills. Requirements also include CPR certification, reliable transportation, and maintaining current licensure in the State of Ohio.

Prior authorization nurse is responsible for gathering and submitting the necessary paperwork and information to the insurance company. Must have a clear understanding the requirements of the insurance company and obtaining the prior authorization number from the insurance company. This position is responsible for obtaining pre-certifications and pre-authorizations for procedures and medications, transcribes and triages patient calls to physicians.
