The Nurse Home Visitor provides maternal and infant health teaching, guidance, support, and physical assessments during home visits for first-time perinatal mothers and their families, often for up to two years after the child's birth. This role also requires comprehensive documentation, tracking services provided, making referrals, and engaging participants.
Candidates must possess a current RN license to practice in the District of Columbia and CPR certification, with a BSN preferred, and experience in maternal/child health or public health is preferred. A valid driver's license, insured automobile, and the ability to communicate effectively in English are required.
This position will report directly to the Nurse Family Partnership Supervisor.

Language Requirement – Ability to communicate effectively in English is required. Additional language proficiency or fluency in Spanish preferred.
Physical Demands – Regularly required to sit; frequently required to reach with hands and arms, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear; must be able to lift objects up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
Work Environment – Mostly in a typical office and/or home setting with quiet to moderate noise level. May be exposed to extreme cold, heat, and humidity due to outside weather conditions. May be exposed to potentially hazardous blood-borne/respiratory pathogens and bodily fluids which require the practice of Universal Precaution procedures.
