The Licensed Practical Nurse assists physicians, NPs, and RNs in patient assessment and contributes to care planning and evaluation. Responsibilities include providing direct technical nursing care and administering medications after completing required pharmacology training and passing the national exam.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Practical Nursing program and maintain current licensure in the State of Ohio, functioning within the scope of practice for an LPN. Required competencies include maintaining BCLS certification and demonstrating skills such as phlebotomy, EKG, vital signs measurement, and various medication administration routes.

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician, provides to individuals and groups nursing care requiring the application of basic knowledge of the biological, physical, behavioral, social and nursing sciences.
