The Respite Clinician conducts comprehensive assessments, provides crisis counseling, and develops individualized safety plans for clients. They are also responsible for facilitating group treatment, managing clinical documentation, and coordinating care with insurance companies and treatment teams.
Candidates must have a sound understanding of human behavior, mental illness, substance use, and co-occurring disorders. The role requires the ability to provide clinical guidance to staff and assist consumers with medication management according to agency policies.

The Respite Clinician is primarily responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments inclusive of the use of standardized assessment tools for suicide risk, brief crisis counseling, individualized risk management/safety planning, psychoeducation, discharge planning, and care coordination. The Respite Clinician develops and facilitates groups for site-based clients and may provide community-based support for Mobile Respite clients within community settings.
The Respite Clinician is expected to have a sound understanding of Human Behavior in the Social Environment, Mental illness, substance use and co-occurring disorders and clinical interventions to appropriately support persons served.
