This role involves ensuring accurate documentation of client funding sources, managing authorizations, handling denials, and maintaining comprehensive provider credentialing records for all relevant payers. The specialist must also support obtaining initial authorizations and timely reauthorizations for client services.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of two years of experience in a specialized medical billing environment, including knowledge of provider credentialing and insurance authorization policies. Technical knowledge must cover Medicare, AHCCCS, HMO/PPO guidelines, and proficiency in CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding is required.
