Join our team as a Care Professional at Home Instead - West Indianapolis, IN, where you will provide compassionate and personalized care to seniors in the Indianapolis area. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of older adults by assisting with daily activities and fostering independence in a home environment.

Hours available -

Day Shift

• Full-Time: 8am - 5pm
• Part-Time: 8am- 1pm

Mid-Day Shift

• Full-Time: 1pm - 9pm
• Part-Time: 12pm - 6pm

Evening Shift

• Full-Time: 3pm - 11pm
• Part-Time: 5pm - 10pm

Some Overnights

• Part-Time: 10pm - 6am (x2 or x3 days a week)

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and companionship to seniors in their homes.
• Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
• Help clients with mobility and light housekeeping tasks.
• Monitor clients’ health and safety, reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Support clients’ emotional and social needs through conversation and participation in activities.
• Follow care plans and maintain accurate documentation of care provided.
• Communicate effectively with clients, families, and the Home Instead team to ensure quality care.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in care giving or related field is a plus, but not required.
• Compassionate, patient, and dependable with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to pass background checks and drug screening.
• Reliable transportation to travel to clients' homes within Indianapolis, IN.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries or accidents by attending to their basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing and eating
• Remind clients to take prescribed medication
• Help with mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks etc.)
• Assist with personal care and hygiene
• Plan and prepare meals
• Complete client’s shopping or accompany them to successfully do so
• Perform housekeeping duties
• Report any unusual incidents and act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
• Offer activities that are essential for daily living by assisting patients with their meals, including serving and other tasks, if necessary

Qualifications

• Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skills
• Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without accommodations
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation every single day
• Validated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner
• Available to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends
• Prior experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment (minimum of 1 year)
• Willingness to enforce health and safety standards

• High School Diploma or equivalent/Experience as a Caregiver
• Take pride in providing high quality care
• Hoyer Lift Experience (specific to client)
