The technologist performs diagnostic radiographic procedures following established protocols to aid in disease and injury diagnosis, which includes explaining procedures, operating imaging equipment, and ensuring optimal image quality. Responsibilities also involve practicing radiation safety and reviewing images for interpretation.
Candidates must be registered and in good standing with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification. Essential functions include accurately reviewing orders, validating patient identification, communicating with patients, ensuring equipment functionality, and adhering to safety and procedural protocols.
