About the role

The technologist will perform chromosome analysis and case review across various sample types, maintaining the highest productivity and accuracy levels. Key duties include executing wet lab procedures like sample setup, harvest, slide dropping, and banding, while also contributing to process improvements and protocol development.

Job Description

Perform Chromosome analysis and case review on all sample types – bone marrow, blood, prenatal, and tissues.

Perform Case Review and Case Analysis at the highest productivity level with 100% accuracy.

Perform wet lab duties including sample set up, harvest, slide dropping, and banding. Tech will perform other wet lab duties as needed.

Suggest and implement process improvements and contribute to protocol development.

Demonstrate successful collaboration with others.

Act independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments and provide guidance and oversee the activities of lower-level personnel.

Assist in trouble shooting issues in the wet lab.

Perform other duties as required including wet lab protocols.

Education

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in biology or related field.

Experience

• 6+ years of experience as a Cytogenetic Technologist

Certification/Licenses/Registration

Required:

  • Certification/registration as a Medical Technologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or certification as a Clinical Lab Specialist in Cytogenetics (NCA).

Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in biology or a related field is required, along with a minimum of six years of experience as a Cytogenetic Technologist. Candidates must possess certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or the NCA as a Clinical Lab Specialist in Cytogenetics.
