The Unit Clerk supports nursing, clinical, and medical staff by performing clerical and technical duties, including maintaining accurate records, managing admissions/discharges in the EHR, and scheduling appointments for members served. This role also involves ordering supplies, answering telephones, and providing clerical assistance as requested by department staff.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent and six months of experience as a unit clerk or administrative support staff within a healthcare environment. Required knowledge includes basic medical terminology and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, along with maintaining current CPR, CPI, and First Aid certifications.
