About the role

The professional will provide evidence-based assessments and therapeutic services to individuals, couples, and families experiencing psychological challenges within an integrated care setting. Key duties include conducting comprehensive assessments, developing treatment plans, providing various forms of therapy, and maintaining accurate clinical documentation.

A Mental Health Professional (MHP) will provide evidence-based assessments of a therapeutic service to individuals, couples, and/or families experiencing emotional, psychological, or behavioral challenges.

The MHP will bring clinical expertise, cultural competence, and a commitment to client-centered care in support of our mission to promote mental wellness and resilience.

The MHP will perform this work with a multidisciplinary healthcare and social care team within integrated care settings, collaborative care settings, and mental health settings.

This position Requires Licensure in Mental Health, Psychology and/or Social Work.

Essential Functions: Promote a safe, inclusive, and trauma-informed therapeutic environment Ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations Collaborate with psychiatrists, primary care providers, care coordinators, peer support specialists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team Will practice behavioral health care in a community mental health setting and be flexible with frame of appointments set by operations team and leadership Complete brief clinical interventions as appropriate, including Warm-Hand Offs from primary care within the behavioral health integration model framework Complete initial behavioral health assessment and safety risk assessment/triage Conduct biopsychosocial assessments Complete diagnostic recommendations based on DSM-5 criteria Provide level of care assessments and recommendations based on assessment Monitor client progress using subjective assessment and objective metrics, develop and review treatment plans/care plan goals as needed, and facilitate referrals for additional services Teach/engage patients, families, and staff on care, prevention, and treatment enhancement techniques.

Provide individual, group, couples, and/or family therapy using evidence-based approaches Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards to include competency with billing documentation Show full competence in utilizing the EHR and other tele-health platforms after completion of orientation training Participate in regular clinical supervision, case consultation, and continuing education Will strive for quality metrics and productivity targets set by leadership.

Will also participate in quality improvement by escalating challenges and solutions in current location of work.

Follow policies and procedures set forth by the administration as applicable Stay current with developments in clinical best practices and licensing requirements.

Facilitate psychoeducational groups and community outreach programs as needed.

Attend required meetings set forth by the supervisor Other duties as defined by management Additional Notes: Hours and locations may change based upon business needs or unforeseen emergency situations.

Availability for coverage outside of set schedule if needed.

May be required to perform emergency duties including but not limited to; working in Red Cross Shelters, and responding to man-made or natural responses to threats or disasters, among others.

Additionally, incumbents are required to perform emergency response and management duties for Palm Beach County Will be cross-trained/scheduled to work in the Clinic, on the phone, and/or on a mobile crisis outside of your primary duties.

The Health Care District of Palm Beach County is an independent special taxing district that has served as a healthcare safety net for more than 36 years to fill in gaps in access to healthcare services.

This unique healthcare system covers the entire county and provides a wide range of services such as nine community health centers (Federally Qualified Health Centers) which serve everyone regardless of ability to pay; school health teams in 172 public schools; a lifesaving Trauma Hawk aeromedical helicopter program; a rural, public teaching hospital, Lakeside Medical Center; an award-winning skilled nursing center; a ground ambulance program for Health Care District patients needing a higher level of care and the county’s Trauma Agency, which ensures quality outcomes within the county’s trauma system and leads initiatives to prevent traumatic injury.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a Master's degree in a relevant field such as Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology, along with current Florida state licensure or registration as an MHP equivalent. Required competencies include knowledge of DSM-5, EHR systems, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
