The Medical Assistant will support providers in daily clinic operations and patient care, which includes interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and recording medical information in charts. Responsibilities also involve preparing patients for physicians, authorizing drug refills, and operating diagnostic equipment like EKGs.
Candidates must have completed a Medical Assistant program and are required to have previous experience with EKGs. Previous experience working in Cardiology is preferred for this full-time position.
Interviews patients, measures vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height and records information in patients’ charts. Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician. Record patients' medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records. Help physicians examine and treat patients Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies. Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean. Operate electrocardiogram (EKG), or other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests.
