The Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) provides care under the supervision of a licensed professional nurse, addressing daily routine patient care needs. The CNA collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality care and maintains a safe patient environment.
Candidates must be certified as a Nurse Aide in Virginia and hold a valid AHA BLS CPR certification. Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of recent acute care experience.
The Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) functions under the direction of a licensed professional nurse (nurse). Under the supervision of the nurse, CNAs perform care appropriate to the patient population served and meet daily routine patient care needs. The CNA performs their duties based on the unit care delivery model. This role collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to deliver care as outlined by the nurse.
