Provide community-based crisis services and school visits for a challenging patient population. Engage in self-directed learning and participate in weekly individual and bi-monthly group supervision.
Must be a current student in an accredited BSW, MSW, or Masters of Counseling program at a university with an existing contract with Sheppard Pratt. Requires a strong foundation in mental health theory, clinical reasoning, and evidence-based practice.
1 supervision model by a Licensed Certified Social Worker, Clinical or Licensed Certified Professional Counselor once a week. In addition, task supervision will be provided at offsite placements by a licensed masters level social worker or counselor who is on-site daily. Both group supervision as well as training opportunities are also provided on a bi-monthly basis.
Student expectations include self-directed learning; independently seeking learning opportunities and feedback, flexible thinking and adaptability. Readiness to learn from all experiences. Patience and compassion when working with this challenging patient population.
