Job Description

This position is eligible for an annual bonus up to $25,000 annually!!

Position Summary

Provide mammography services to patients in accordance with physicians’ orders. Responsible for preparing mammography rooms and diagnostic equipment while performing high quality testing, operating equipment according to prescribed safety standards. Responsible for exercising own professional judgment and upholding medical ethics in performance of diagnostic services. This position requires adherence to patient confidentiality.

Essential Job functions

Assumes responsibility for patient safety by utilizing the proper exposure and protective measures.

Educates and explains procedures to patient.

Follows appropriate departmental protocol for procedures unless otherwise specified by the Radiologist.

Obtains and documents patient history and pertinent information. Assesses patient for potential risk factors.

Insures proper identification of patient and patient demographics in Magview.

Produces quality mammography images for interpretation.

Remains flexible to accommodate patients regardless of arrival time.

Adheres to infection control standards specific to patient care.

Ability to prioritize based on patient needs.

Promotes/maintains a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.

Consults and communicates with other departments in a professional manner.

Demonstrates an understanding of safety, health and morale needs of customers and co-workers.

Operates medical imaging equipment properly and safely.

Demonstrates awareness of Radiation Safety Procedures for self and others.

Ensures equipment is in acceptable conditions by conducting routine quality control checks.

Follows department standards for reporting equipment malfunctions or problems.

Follows regulatory guidelines and performs QA/QC as mandated by ACR/ MQSA.

Follows mammography procedures for needle localizations and stereo tactic biopsies.

Orders appropriate supplies as needed and communicates with team.

Inputs all data within Magview women’s tracking software.

Education, Certification, Computer and Training Requirements

  • Diploma from a Vocational/Technical school required.
  • No experience required. 2-4 years experience preferred.
  • ARRT certificate and OBMI required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to use problem solving, critical thinking and priority setting skills.
  • Experience with Standard Office Equipment (Phone, Fax, Copy Machine, Scanner, Email/Voice Mail) preferred.
