The technologist performs specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures, explaining processes to patients, positioning them, and adjusting equipment to capture optimal radiographic images. They also assist in fluoroscopic examinations, process images, perform routine equipment maintenance, and practice radiation safety.
Candidates must have a minimum of five years of continuous experience as a Radiologic Technologist, along with a High School Diploma or GED. Required certifications include California state credentials for Radiologic Technologist, Venipuncture, and Fluoroscopy, in addition to Basic Life Support.
Under the direction of the Imaging Services Director and Chief of Diagnostic Imaging, performs radiographic diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injuries. Operates the radiographic equipment to produce radiographic recorded images of the body. Performs technological functions to ensure optimal diagnostic quality of patient care utilizing efficient and safe processes.
