The Diagnostic Radiology Technologist I performs technical radiographic procedures, often requiring independent judgment, to apply ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. Responsibilities include patient intake, collecting medical history, answering patient questions, safely guiding patients through imaging, and proficiently operating imaging equipment.
Candidates must complete a formal Radiography program with an associated certificate or degree and possess required licensure including ARRT (R) registration and an IEMA Radiography License. Essential skills include excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, along with a firm understanding of human anatomy and physiology.

The Diagnostic Radiology Technologist I performs radiographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Is responsible for performing technical procedures that may require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. They perform patient intake by collecting medical history and must be able to answer patient questions regarding the imaging procedure. They follow specific instructions from providers on what areas to image and guide patients through the imaging process safely and comfortably. They operate imaging equipment proficiently, have a firm understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the human body, demonstrate knowledge of proper imaging techniques in all patient populations and may confer with Providers on the results of imaging tests and collaborates to determine whether additional images are required.
