The Occupational Therapist evaluates patients across all age groups to establish age-specific treatment programs and provides direct patient care, including daily documentation of treatments and evaluations. They are also responsible for supervising support personnel and assisting with general department activities.
Candidates must possess a current Florida Occupational Therapy license and must clear a background and drug test, with the BLS certification required within 90 days of employment. Effective verbal and written communication skills in English, including legible handwriting, are mandatory for this role.
Evaluates patients of all ages and establishes age specific treatment programs, provides direct patient care, documents daily treatments and evaluations and assists with department activities. Supervises support personnel including COTA, students and volunteers. Provides consultation, maintains work areas, attends and participates in continuing education and represents tech department in the hospital and community.
Required Licenses/Certifications: Current Florida Occupational Therapy license Current BLS within 90 days of first day of employment
Ability to effectively communicate (verbally and in writing) in English, ability to write legibly (clinical areas) Must clear background and drug test required.
