The Physician Assistant will render direct patient care, including assessing physical and mental conditions, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and prescribing therapeutic treatments for acute conditions and minor injuries. They will formulate and implement comprehensive patient treatment plans based on evidence-based medicine while collaborating with team members when appropriate.
Candidates must be licensed, certified healthcare providers with the ability to practice autonomously while adhering to the supervising physician's scope of practice. A minimum of one year of clinical experience is preferred, and candidates must possess current NCCPA certification and obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS Practice Setting · Busy Urgent Care clinic serving a mixed patient population · Treating patients ages 6 months and older · Located in the rapidly growing community of Hutto · Updated clinic space with strong operational support Patient Volume · Average 25–30 patients per day · Broad urgent care scope including acute illness and minor injury management Care Team & Support · Collaborative clinic environment with: o 5 Primary Care Physicians o 1 Endocrinology Physician · Dedicated support staff including: o 1 LVN and 1 CMA (1:1 support ratio) o 3 Patient Services Specialists (PSS) · Lab services available Monday–Friday Schedule · Clinic hours: o Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM o Saturday & Sunday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM · Rotating two-week schedule o Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday o Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday · Provides built-in extended time off during rotation Role & Responsibilities · Provide autonomous urgent care management · Evaluate and treat acute conditions and minor injuries · Manage a diverse patient population across all ages (6 months+) Additional Opportunities · Moonlighting opportunities available · Opportunity to practice independently while still having physician collaboration

Job Summary The Physician Assistant (PA) Urgent Care is a licensed, certified healthcare provider. They render direct patient care and have prescriptive authority. They are credentialed, privileged, and billed as an independent provider by Medicare and Medicaid. The Advanced Practice Provider offers medical care based on the supervising physician's scope of practice. They typically care for patients in an urgent or convenient care clinic. Essential Functions of the Role Assesses the physical and mental condition of patients by performing and obtaining comprehensive or problem-focused physical examinations and medical histories. Orders, collects, interprets, and evaluates laboratory and other diagnostic tests to assess patient problems and health care needs. Prescribes or recommends medical drug therapies or other therapeutic treatments. Performs procedures following approved policies, focusing on efficacy, safety, and cost. Recommends interventions to change behavior linked to health risks. Formulates and implements comprehensive patient treatment plans based on assessments. Uses evidence-based medicine, standards of care, and guidelines. Collaborates with physicians and team members when appropriate. Evaluates patient's response to care and its effectiveness. Counsels patients and families on medical processes, illness management, medication, nutrition, and health promotion. Counsels patients about drug regimens and possible side effects or interactions with food supplements, over-the-counter medications, and herbal remedies. Maintains appropriate records detailing the patient's treatment plans and outcomes. Initiates timely consultation and referral when the problem exceeds scope of practice or expertise. Provides consultation level services for conditions/problems related to the Provider’s specialty and training. Performs invasive procedures specific to scope of practice and provider’s level of expertise as delegated by supervising Physician. May be required to perform patient care duties beyond regular schedule based on coverage needs of the department. This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives, drug properties and interactions, and preventive health-care measures.
