The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer acts as a healthcare provider, working under physician authority to deliver clinically relevant medical imaging information for patient diagnosis and treatment. Responsibilities include providing diagnostic medical sonographer services across various clinical specialties in accordance with established policies and professional standards.
Candidates must have completed a two-year Allied Health education program or hold an Associate or Bachelor's degree from an accredited ultrasound program, along with current AHA BLS certification. Required credentials include RDMS certification in at least one specialty (Abdomen, OBGYN, Pediatric, or MSK), with ARDMS Breast credentials mandatory for Breast Center rotations.
The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer functions as a healthcare provider, who, working under the delegated authority of the supervising physician, serves as a medical imaging professional providing clinically relevant information to assist the physician with diagnosis and treatment of patients. The role and responsibilities include providing diagnostic medial sonographer services and its various clinical specialties. The activities are performed consistent with their education and training, and in accordance with facility policy and procedures and applicable professional standards.
Certificate Completion of a two-year Allied Health education program or Associate or Bachelors of Applied Science Degree Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program or Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider Card Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) ARDMS Credentialed in one of the following (credentials in multiple specialties preferred): 1) Abdomen 2) OBGYN 3) Pediatric 4) MSK ARDMS Breast credentials required to rotate through Breast Center Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) RVT Registered within 6 months Vascular Experience Preferred To be eligible for the hiring bonus you must be an external candidate who is hired into an eligible full-time or part-time position. Previous employees qualify if they have not worked for CentraCare for at least 9 months at the date of hire.
