About the role

The Coordinator implements comprehensive outreach strategies, focusing on building relationships with stakeholders and engaging hard-to-reach populations, particularly those with opioid use disorder. Essential functions include providing direct outreach, performing data collection, assisting individuals with benefit applications, and facilitating entry into SOAR services.

Description SUMMARY

  • The Outreach & Engagement Coordinator works as an integral part of the Recovery Support Center. The Outreach & Engagement
  • Coordinator will perform, but is not limited to, the following duties: administrative tasks, program record-keeping, billing, conducting interviews, enrollments, developing, implementing and monitoring individualized wellness/recovery plans oversee comprehensive outreach efforts to persons in recovery/seeking recovery. This position may require a flexible schedule including 1st and 2nd shifts. The agency has the right to change shifts based on the needs of the organization.

Essential functions

Position Specific Duties Develop and manage a comprehensive, culturally responsive and trauma informed outreach plan targeting hard to reach populations and locations. Develop outreach and engagement materials for volunteer outreach workers providing services to target populations. Develop and manage an outreach schedule to better serve center members/participants. Develop and manage a working relationship with all stakeholders (providers, clergy, elected officials, police, community activists, and potential members). Oversee street outreach efforts to persons in recovery or seeking recovery from substance use. Oversee volunteer outreach workers providing outreach services to center members/participants. Develop plan for data collection and oversee data collection performed during outreach. Ability to climb three flights of stairs to visit consumers in the community. Ability to respond to emergency situations by placing calls to Fire, Rescue, Police, and Medical, etc.

Administrative

Tasks: Complete all required documentation in a timely manner. Perform program recordkeeping and filing, and organize vital documents. Provide telephone coverage for the assigned program and direct calls to other programs as needed. Participate in required supervisions, staff meetings and trainings. Participate and cooperate in any investigations conducted by internal and external agencies. Ability to use a computer including inputting information into data systems including collecting GRPA data on each enrolled consumer.

Compliance

Requirements: Remain awake during your shift at all times. Attend all mandatory trainings and update all licenses and certifications. Adhere to center/project/department requirements and services. Follow all reporting guidelines by deadlines including the completion of a Confidential Incident Report.

Qualification

REQUIREMENTS: The Outreach & Engagement Coordinator must perform each essential function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions. The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge/skill and/or ability required. High School or General Education Diploma (GED). Minimum of two years of related work experience providing services to individuals affected by substance use disorder Certification as a Recovery Coach or waived for six months while completing certification. A minimum of one-year experience in insurance billing, clerical, and other office administration related duties. Requires two years of consistent recovery from substance use or two years of “lived” experience. Good working knowledge of computers, electronic health records and data collection. Requires valid driver’s license due to business-related travel.

Requirements

Candidates must have a minimum of two years of related work experience with individuals with opioid use disorders and possess a valid driver's license due to extensive travel requirements (60-80% of the time). A High School Diploma or GED is preferred, and experience or education in cultural competency, along with bilingual Spanish/English skills, is a plus.
