The Technologist performs imaging procedures according to radiology standards to aid in diagnosis or treatment, operating mammography equipment in mobile, clinic, or hospital settings. Responsibilities include utilizing appropriate techniques, assisting in coordinating mobile unit events, promoting services, and maintaining equipment safety.
Candidates must complete an accredited radiography program and be registered with the ARRT, specifically holding the Mammography (ARRT(M)) credential. A minimum of six months of experience in the specialty area is required, along with obtaining Basic Life Support (BLS) certification shortly after hiring.
Performs imaging procedures/treatments according to radiology practice standards in order to aid in the diagnosis and/or treatment of disease. Worked may be performed in mobile health unit, clinic or hospital setting.
Purpose of Position and Scope of Responsibility Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities
Completion of a formal education program in radiography accredited by a mechanism acceptable to ARRT. Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists with current Registry in Mammography ARRT(M). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire date.
6 months experience in specialty area as required to meet all Mammo competencies at the end of orientation period.
