The Registered Nurse provides direct and indirect nursing care to assigned patient populations consistent with licensure and facility policy. This includes assessing patient needs, establishing and implementing a plan of care, evaluating effectiveness, and directing other members of the nursing care team.
Required qualifications include maintaining a current California Registered Nurse license, current BLS and ACLS certificates, and having one or more years of experience in Critical Care, Step Down, or Telemetry, or completion of a New Graduate Nurse Residency Program. Completion of TNCC within 18 months and a Critical Care Course within one year (if no prior ICU experience) are also mandatory.
Consistent with scope of licensure, parameters of the California Nurse Practice Act, and Mercy Medical Center Merced (MMCM) policy and procedure, renders direct and indirect nursing care to assigned patient populations. Assesses patients for nursing needs, establishes and implements a problem oriented plan of nursing care, and evaluates the effectiveness of care provided. Provides immediate direction to other members of the nursing care team to assure the appropriate provision of nursing services. Job Requirements Required Must possess and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license with the state of California. Must possess and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate. Must possess and maintain a current Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificate TNCC within 18 months Completion of Critical Care Course within one year of employment for RN without ICU experience One or more year experience in a Critical Care, Step Down or Telemetry setting, Medical/Surgical, or completion of New Graduate Nurse Residency Program Must be able to take call, float to other areas, and work on weekends as required. Preferred Advanced EKG Course. Possess a current Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certificate. Bilingual Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements. #RN@DH
