The Physical Therapist Assistant performs components of physical therapy procedures selected by a supervising physical therapist to help improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent physical disabilities. Essential functions include administering therapeutic exercises, instructing patients in functional activities, observing responses to treatment, and reporting progress to the physical therapist.
Candidates must possess an Associate's Degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant, with graduates eligible for licensure being considered. Required credentials include a Texas Physical Therapy Assistant license and a current BLS Certification from the American Heart Association.
