About the role

The Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist will assist physicians in performing highly specialized Cardiovascular procedures, including diagnostic and interventional catheterization, pacemaker/defibrillator implantation, IABP operation, and electrophysiology studies. This role requires working in a supportive, team environment within the Cardiovascular Lab.

Penrose - St. Francis Health Services is a full-service, 712-bed acute care provider in Colorado Springs comprised of Penrose Hospital, St. Francis Hospital and St. Francis Hospital - Interquest. Penrose Hospital serves as the anchor hospital of Penrose-St. Francis Health Services with 300-licensed beds and the ability to provide tertiary (high tech) medical-surgical services with an emphasis on elective and outpatient care. Established in 1890, Penrose Hospital has grown to become a major health treatment and referral center, specializing in cancer care, cardiac care, emergency trauma care and physical rehabilitation. In our Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist role, you will assist physicians in performing a variety of highly specialized Cardiovascular procedures including, but not limited to, diagnostic and interventional catheterization, pacemaker/defibrillator implantation, intra-aortic balloon pump operation (IABP), and electrophysiology studies. Job Requirements In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following: One year of Cardiac Catheterization Lab experience, preferred. Special procedures experience, preferred A graduate of a diploma, associate or baccalaureate academic program in health science or Graduate of an accredited program in invasive cardiovascular technology also acceptable-required Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) upon hire or within 6 Months of Hire Colorado Surgical Assistant License or Surgical Technologist Certification upon hire unless performing SA duties within the scope of another active Colorado license, certification, or registration (required for Colorado employed staff only) required For RCIS role, one of the following licenses is required: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) through CCI; OR Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES); OR RRT with post primary certification of Cardiac-Interventional Radiography through ARRT required Non-registered applicants who meet other qualifications listed above will be required to obtain RCIS, RCES, or with post primary certification of Cardiac-Interventional Radiography through ARRT within 18 months of hire.

Schedule

full-time, 72 hours per two-week pay period, including call requirements. 30 minute callback radius applies. Physical Requirements-Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)

Requirements

Candidates must have a graduate degree from an accredited program in invasive cardiovascular technology or health science, along with required certifications including current BLS and ACLS (or obtained within 6 months). One year of Cardiac Catheterization Lab experience is preferred, and specific Colorado licensing may be required for employed staff.
