About the role

As a Registered Nurse, the professional will deliver compassionate, high-quality care by performing critical assessments, skilled procedures, and implementing individualized patient care plans. Responsibilities include managing patient needs across physical, psychological, and spiritual dimensions, and collaborating with the team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safe transitions of care.

Where You’ll Work Recent construction has expanded our Memorial Livingston emergency room to 23,500 square feet.

With state-of-the-art technology and increased resources, our ER can now serve even more of our growing community.

The new facility includes 26 treatment stations, including three trauma rooms, 16 exam rooms, and adjacent radiology, ultrasound, and CT rooms.

There are also designated areas for disaster response and decontamination.

This state-of-the-art facility builds on the foundation of expert care you can expect at our Livingston hospital.

No two days in emergency nursing are ever the same.

You’re a multitasker who can react quickly as you’ll prioritize patients based on their medical necessity while you’re providing emergency triage to others.

As part of our ER team, you’ll partner with an experienced clinical team to deliver stabilizing care to our patients by performing IV starts, foley catheter insertions, or aiding providers with chest tube insertions.

Essential key job responsibilities Assessment: Does admission and ongoing assessment of patient’s condition.

Provides nursing care to meet the patient’s physical, psychological and spiritual needs.

Notifies doctor of changes in assessment that require attention.

Planning

Designs, directs, evaluates, and documents the plan of care, patient/family teaching and the transition of care plan to include a safe appropriate level of care discharge. Works with other clinical disciplines to meet specialized patient care and discharge needs. Formulates a plan of care and daily goals that takes into consideration the individualized needs of the patient.

Implementation

Prepares patients physically, psychologically, and spiritually for treatments, surgeries and diagnostic studies to help reduce patient anxiety. Knows patients' conditions and reports significant changes to Charge Nurse/Team Leader, and/or physician. Implements patient safety initiative and protocols including medication safety practices, physician orders, consult notifications.

Evaluation

Reassesses patients at appropriate intervals following interventions. Notifies physician as necessary to modify interventions. Adjusts nursing care to meet patient's emerging and changing needs.

Report

Skills: Gives and receives report using Bedside Shift Report including family participation. Provides an accurate and comprehensive report to the oncoming shift to help establish continuity of patient care. Receives report from Job Requirements Required Associates Of Science Nursing, upon hire and At least one (1) year of RN experience and Demonstrated competence in Registered Nurse I performance expectations or meets experience requirements upon hire

Nurse: TX, upon hire and Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 - days and Advanced Cardiac Life Support, within 6 - months and Pediatric Advanced Life Support, within 6 - months and Trauma Nurse Core Course, within 12 - months

Requirements

Candidates must possess an Associate Degree in Nursing along with at least one year of Registered Nurse experience upon hire, demonstrating competence in RN I expectations. Required certifications include a Texas Registered Nurse license and Basic Life Support - CPR within 14 days, with Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification needed within six months.
