The Perinatal Sonographer I monitors fetal growth during pregnancy using high-frequency sound waves and Doppler ultrasound, reviewing and mounting test results for physician interpretation. Responsibilities include performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures, preparing patients for exams and interventional procedures, and maintaining sterile fields when required.
Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED and must complete an ARDMS or AART approved ultrasound training program. Registration as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) is required within 90 days of hiring.
