The technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures, including CT scans, using specialized equipment under physician direction, while providing necessary patient care and adhering to ethical standards. Responsibilities also include verifying consent, practicing sterile techniques, selecting proper equipment settings, and ensuring radiation safety compliance.
Candidates must be graduates of a Radiologic Technology program and hold current BLS certification upon hire. Required certifications include ARRT Board Certification in Radiology (RTR) and a valid Medical Radiography or General Radiology Technologist Permit to Practice license in Nebraska or Iowa, with ARRT CT certification required within two years of hiring.
