The inpatient pharmacy technician supports pharmacists by being responsible for the packaging, preparation, and distribution of medications, alongside managing inventory and maintaining pharmacy records. Key duties include preparing medications through compounding, delivering them accurately, maintaining inventories, and ensuring a clean work area.
A High School Diploma/GED is required, along with immediate registration as a Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy. Candidates must obtain national CPhT certification and registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician within 18 months of hire, and an understanding of algebraic calculations for compounding is necessary.
