About the role

The role involves obtaining vital signs and general health information to prepare patients for examination, and assisting the provider during examinations and procedures. Responsibilities also include collecting laboratory specimens, performing ordered tests, arranging patient testing, and accurately recording patient information in charts.

Overview

Obtain vital signs and general health information for patient chart and prepares patient for examination. Assists the provider as needed with examinations and procedures. Assists in the collection of laboratory specimens and performance of tests on patients as ordered by the provider or arranges for patient testing, admissions and referrals. Enters and records patient information in charts in a concise and accurate manner.

Qualifications

  • The following, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • CMA - Graduate of accredited program of Certified Medical Assistants.
  • Prefer at least one year of clinical experience in family care practice.
  • LPN - Graduate of accredited program of Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Prefer at least one year of clinical experience in family care practice.
  • Paramedic - Current NC EMT-Paramedic Certification Current BLS Prefer at least one year of clinical experience in a clinical setting.
  • For geographic locations with more than one clinic, staff will be expected to float between clinics when operational need warrants

Requirements

Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited program for CMA or LPN, or hold current NC EMT-Paramedic Certification with current BLS. A preference of at least one year of clinical experience in a family care practice or clinical setting is noted for all qualifications.
