Essential Functions of a Mammo Technologist
Perform screening and diagnostic mammograms, including 2D and 3D tomosynthesis.
Educate patients on the procedure, address anxieties, and obtain relevant medical histories.
Calibrate and operate specialized X-ray machines, adjusting density and contrast for optimal image clarity.
Assist radiologists with interventional procedures like stereotactic biopsies, needle localizations, and galactograms.
Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly QC tests to ensure equipment complies with FDA/MQSA and American College of Radiology (ACR) standards.
Maintain accurate patient records and coordinate follow-up care as required by federal regulations.
Candidates must possess ARRT(M) Certification and current BLS Certification to qualify for this role. Ideal candidates should be self-directed learners with excellent communication skills, integrity, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
